When I was younger, this is how I planned my life. I was going to be 23 when I got married, and have my first child by 25. I was either going to be a physical therapist, work with special needs kids or adults, or be a well known jewelry maker.
Fact: life does not go as planned. This always makes me think of the song by Garth Brooks, Unanswered Prayers. How many late nights as a teenager did I stay up praying for these things? And you know what, not a single one happened how or when I thought.
The other night I had a very very long, into the wee hours of the morning, talk/cry/laughing session with my husband and one of our best friends M
att. Whenever I hear of that saying, "You may not know why now, but it will come to light later" yeah, I think of this night. I have stayed friends with Matt since I was a 15 year old kid. Who knew that him and Jeff would be best friends and honestly, two of the closest guys I have ever seen together. They hug, they say I love you, they would do anything for each other. No, they aren't gay!

s. Who knew that through everything, we would end up there? Not me that's for sure. I mean honestly, Matt and I knew we would be connected some how, for however long our life here is supposed to be. There were a few times we though, should we date? But those times never panned out, but we remained steady friends, as though that was a little phase. Who knew that we were friends so that I, in some strange way, had a part in making sure my husband had a best friend here, away from his family and friends in Baltimore. Someone he is closer to than any of his friends from back home.

Just to be close to that genius in any way possible. Well, as much as I would love to see him succeed, instead I'm so proud of him in many other ways than beinb someone else's coffee boy. He is a hard worker, a strong man, a rock in our marriage, the best friend you could ever have, a sweet lover, an attentive person, yet a sensitive, ears open boy at times. He is a comedian, an amazing cook, a go getter, everything you could possibly want in a mate, in a best friend.
I am so blessed to have both of these guys in my life. Matt, who is an answer to prays that I have had for my husband, and my husband who is an answer to prayers for myself, as selfish as those may be. Of course God had his own timing. I never did get married at 23, and I'm going to be 31 with no children yet, but His path for me has been nothing short of perfect, with all of it's bumps and hills along the way.
